Board of Directors
Our board of directors are all CUAA members that volunteer their time to run the day to day operations of our non-profit organization. We hold a virtual meeting quarterly to discuss business, vote on current initiatives and continue our mission to support Natural Resource students at HSU. If you are interested in serving as a board member, please contact us [email protected].
Carolyn Buesch
Board Chair 2024 graduated from HSU in 2016 with a B.S. in Wildlife Management and Conservation with a minor in geospatial studies. I have worked seasonal jobs for the U.S Forest Service and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife doing a variety of wildlife surveys. I currently work for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife as an Environmental Scientist. I decided to get involved with CUAA in 2020 by making a donation to the binocular campaign for students. After that I joined the fundraising committee and helped to coordinate and plan CUAA mixers during The Wildlife Society conferences in 2022 and 2023. I joined the board in 2023 and look forward to working with CUAA in their mission to loan a helping hand. Megan McCormick
I graduated from HSU with a BS in Biology in 2018. I have worked in the environmental consulting industry on and off since 2011 while getting my degree. After graduating, I moved to Bakersfield CA, to begin my career as a wildlife biologist at McCormick Biological, Inc. Many summers have been spent surveying for the endangered and state fully protected blunt-nosed leopard lizard and I specialize in the wildlife species of the Southern San Joaquin Valley. My hobbies include birding, backpacking, mushroom hunting (when I visit Humboldt), camping, attending concerts and sporting events, and jumping on my trampoline! I learned about CUAA at the first wildlife conference I attended and joined the board that day. I love that CUAA helps the next generation of wildlife professionals and I am excited to be a part of it! Will Goldenberg- Board Chairman 2023 I was raised in South Lake Tahoe and graduated Cal Poly Humboldt with a BS in Wildlife Management in 2008 and an MS in 2013. I then moved to the UK and studied wildlife filmmaking with the BBC Natural History Unit/University of the West of England in Bristol, England. Now back in Arcata and working as a wildlife cinematographer, I am eager to help support the next generation of Humboldt wildlife students. |
